2022 Hot Street Diesel Rules

1. This will be a Points Class with Dragon Motorsports this year. You must be a member to participate in this class at any Dragon Motorsports Sanctioned Event.
 2. Engine must be compression ignition engine factory produced for 1 ton or smaller
diesel pick-up trucks. Aftermarket programmers and chips allowed. Aftermarket air to air
Intercoolers are allowed.
 3. Any and all turbo or turbos are accepted.
 4. Maximum Truck weight including driver is 8100lbs.Weight box’s are permitted.
Hanging front weights are ALLOWED. The weights may not exceed 60 inches from the center of  front axle.
5. Fuel must be #1/#2 diesel fuel only. Soy/Biodiesel fuel is permitted. No other
combustible material (nitrous, propane, etc) may be injected into turbocharger or any part of air
intake system. Water to air intercoolers are prohibited. nitrous or combustibles: Feed line must
be removed from the bottle to the solenoid, and the bottle removed from the vehicle.
Fuel cells are permitted, a 10 GL Minimum located in bed only.
 6. Multiple injection pumps are legal.
 7. All vehicles must have 4-wheel hydraulic brake system in good working
 8. Headlights cannot be removed from the air duct. .

 9. Hitch: The hitch must be a frame mount. Reinforcements must not extend forward

of the centerline of the rear axle or to the axle housing itself. Hitch and/or pivot point can’t be

any higher than 2 inches above top of frame rail. Trick hitches are prohibited. Hook point can be

NO closer than 44” to the centerline of the rear axle. The hooking point will be measured to

where the sled hook contacts clevis. The hitch must be horizontal to the ground and stationary

in all directions. Hitch must not exceed a maximum of 25 degree angle from pivot point to hook

point. No hitch supports or adjusters can be fastened to the rear axle housing (above) the top

lineof axle tube housing. Pivot pin of drawbar can be no farther forward than centerline of rear

axle.Bumpers may be notched or removed. The hitch’s height from the ground may not exceed

24”before, during, or after the sled pull. The hooking point must have a minimum 3.750-inch

inside diameter opening for the sled hook.  HITCH HEIGHT – 24”

10. Vehicles must have OEM firewall and floor. Only holes allowed are those for

brakes, clutch, transmission controls and wiring.

 11. Wheels and tires must have DOT approved number on sidewall. Maximum tire

size of 35 x 12.50 permitted. Dual wheels are not permitted. All real wheels are permitted

without any offset restrictions.

 12. All vehicles must have OEM working suspension, front and rear, and zero

suspension travel is permitted. All rear axle reinforcements cannot be permanent, and must be

removable. Bolt on traction bars are permitted. Suspension must have play. It can be sitting

solid on leaf springs, but when lifted from rear bumper, it must have movement upward. No solid

rear end welded stops.

.Wheelbase of truck must be unaltered for the truck being used.

 14. Truck and driveline being used (including front and rear axle, clutch,

transmission, transfer case and drive shaft) must have been originally produced for diesel one

ton or smaller pick-up truck. No pro fab 3 speeds

15. Engine and radiator must be in original location as intended by manufacturer.

 16. Frame, body, bed and fenders must meet OEM specifications. Flat beds must be

State Street Legal. All window glass must be in place. Doors and

windows must function up and down.Beds must have a full floor. Small access holes are

allowed in the bed for roll cage attachments and hitch attachments.
17. Hand throttles will be allowed but must be dead man type
18. Any u-joints that can been seen must be shielded
