Our biggest event of the season is right the corner. It is scheduled for September 27 & 28 Campers will be welcome as in years past but we will have a designated area for campers this year. We don't have room for the campers to be parked in the pit area.We will not charge for camping out but you must buy a ticket for both days when you enter the grounds on Friday. We are also offering a2 day pass for $30 (savings of $5 each). We sold quite a few of them for last years event. Get with me a call as soon as possible if interested. Don't forget about the party we will have Friday night after the event in the shop We moved the Party to Friday night this year because it is usually so late when we are done on Saturday.. Everyone is welcome to bring a little side dish if they want and it should be a good time

Promoting Your Pulls

Promoters,

We have promoted hundreds of successful pulls. Temple and me talk a lot about what works, what doesn't, what might, so that we have a good idea what is going on with trends in event promotion, marketing, and Motorsports.

Timing, I recommend 6 weeks to reach out to us, posters typically arrive 3-4 weeks in advance of events. Let us know when you want them. On Social Media, we require less because the reach is more. I ask that you keep in mind local fans need time so they can plan outings/vacations accordingly. Fans and Pullers watch the dragon pulls.com Schedule, but new fans do not, so be mindful of that. We can get your events promoted, advertised in your local area, as well as traditional print. We have clients that want letter, poster size, and black and white on high color paper. We offer custom commercials with actual action that will be coming to your events. We have even done banners that can be reused for future events with changeable dates. These are ideal for land you own or have access to post them on.

When we design your posters, Facebook flyers, etc, we can easily put them in a format suitable for Facebook & their policies and the dragonpulls.com website. It is a very specific resolution which I just handle for my clients. Most all money goes directly to the paper, the boost, and I cover just a little bit of my time and the photos I have taken. If events are canceled, we also want to know so we can get the word out as soon as possible. Lots of miles can be saved that way.

Our biggest event of the season is right the corner. It is scheduled for October 5th & 6th. Campers will be welcome as in years past but we will have a designated area for campers this year. We don't have room for the campers to be parked in the pit area .We will not charge for camping out but you must buy a ticket for both days when you enter the grounds on Friday. We are also offering a 2 day pass for $30 (savings of $5 each). We sold quite a few of them for last years event. Get with me a call as soon as possible if interested. Don't forget about the party we will have Saturday night after the event in the shop. Everyone is welcome to bring a little side dish if they want and it should be a good time

Small Block FWD rules for Southern Showdown

Engine

Engine must be classified as a small block from the factory. Aftermarket blocks will be allowed, with the exception of the Ford Cleveland Style Motor (Cleveland style motor must run a factory production style block that was available in a production car or truck and have original casting numbers in place). No Chevrolet LS style engine allowed. No Ford Modular style engine. No Chrysler Hemi style engine.
Engine will have a 440 cubic inch limit, with 0 allowance.
Engine must be in factory location, radiator must be located in front of the engine in stock location.
No dry sump oiling system on the engine.
Cylinder heads must be factory valve angle, and may be aluminum or cast iron. No raised runner heads. Cylinder heads must accept a Cast intake that is readily available to the general public. No Sheet metal Intake. Chevrolet: 18, 15, 12, 9-degree heads will not be allowed. No SB2 heads; Ford: No Yates, or Kaase Heads allowed. Heads must be either factory valve angle Windsor-based, or factory valve angle Cleveland-based Heads; Chrysler: No Indy heads or any Hemi Style configuration. Must be factory valve angle and wedge style head.
Only one Carburetor allowed and it may be 4500 flange or 4150 flange. No fuel injection allowed.

Chassis

Any DOT approved tire will be allowed but must not exceed 35X12.50 size. (No cutting or grooving tires).
Vehicle must have a one-ton or lower driveline.
Vehicle must have driveshaft loops and universal joint shields. Blowproof Bellhousing is required for manual. A blanket or shield are required around automatic transmissions as well.
All vehicles must run the factory specific wheelbase for the vehicle. Wheelbase must not be altered.
Trucks will be limited to an extended cab with a short bed. Wheelbase is limited to 141".
No fiberglass body parts with the exception of the hood and tailgate.
All hitches must be safe, secure, and rigid in all directions. Max height 24". No hydraulic hitches allowed. Hitches must be at least 36% of the wheelbase length from the center of rear axle to hook point on the hitch.
Hanging weights will be allowed. Weight can be no more than 60" from the center of the front axle housing. Weights cannot be more than 80" wide or 40" from center of truck. There will be a 1" allowance on all measurements.
Any loss of weights, parts, excessive fluids, etc. will be grounds for disqualification, except due to breakage or after forward motion has ended.
If a puller goes out of bounds, the vehicle will be disqualified.
Puller will be allowed a second attempt to start the sled if the vehicle does not go past the 75 ft. marker on the first attempt. Unless in the pull-off.
A full pull is 320 ft. Anything past will require a pull-off unless promoter states floating finish.
Fuel may be pump gas or race gas. No alcohol, Nitrous Oxide, or Nitrous accessories allowed on engine (Plate. etc.)
Any interference from truck drivers, crew on the track, or scales is grounds for disqualification.

Safety

All drivers must wear a helmet, and fire approved suit.
Every vehicle must be equipped with at least a five-pound fire extinguisher.
Vehicle must have a working kill switch with a 1-inch hole for a hook point at the rear of the truck

Both events have been cancelled and moved to later dates. They will not be for points and the classes may be modified a bit to help the promoters.Stay tuned for updates. Lets hope the Hurricane stays south and all we get is rain. And say a prayer for the ones down South that will get hit hard.

Attention 6250 Pullers- Truck Teching and Rule changes

We will be teching trucks Saturday at the pull for the 6250 class. We ask that everyone be there a little early so this can be done.

Rule Changes

1- 133 inch maximum wheelbase with a 36% hitch

2- Electric fuel pumps and regulators will be allowed

3- Ford trucks will be allowed aftermarket heads but they must accept a Cobra Jet style intake

- Aftermarket heads allowed are made by Eliminator Products and these are the only 3 part numbers allowed:

1- A 460

2- B 460

3- F 460
